Winter Tan Treats

As temperatures start to drop, there’s nothing I love more than wrapping up warm. But even though I will spending most of the winter months covered up, I still like to make sure that I maintain a bronzed glow.

Most of us have Christmas parties and events to attend, which means that you have will have an excuse to wear anything with a hint of glitter. With that in mind, it’s even more important for me to ensure that my skin will also be glowing. Not all of us are lucky enough to jet away to a warmer climate to get that tropic tan, so I have been looking for an easier alternative.

St. Tropez Express Sheet Mask

When it comes to tanning my face I am always worried that it will leave me with a bright orange face, along with a ton of breakouts. As I am always impressed with St. Tropez tanning products I thought that I would give this a go.

Unlike other face tanners, this product comes in the form of a sheet mask. It’s advertised as being nourishing and glowing, so I was hoping that it wouldn’t dry out my face. As soon as you take the product out of it’s package you can feel how much moisture is in it, which I love. One thing to note is that the mask is very delicate so be extra careful when unfolding it.

I left the mask on for just over five minutes. The product develops gradually and I applied it before going to bed, so I was very pleased to wake up with a light glow to my face. Most importantly I did not break out after using this product which was amazing. The only downside is that you only have one use out of it, but it is definitely a product I will be stocking up on.

Bondi Sans – Self Tanning Foam

This is my new go-to tanning product. I always find that foams work better than lotions, especially when you can see where the tan is developing. This product blends perfectly and you only need to leave it on for an hour to get a bronzed glow.

I tend to go for the Light/Medium shade and I leave it on overnight in order to create the perfect tone. The shade is not orange at all and it leaves you looking like you have been relaxing on a beach all week.

This product also smells incredible, which is always something I look for in a tanning product. If you’re looking for a product which is super easy to apply and will leave you with a natural looking glow, then I would definitely recommend this self tanner.

My Tanning Favourites!

Spring is here, which means that Summer is right around the corner. The first thing I think of when I picture summer is being tanned – but if you don’t have a holiday planned then you might need a little help.

I personally hate the orange skin look, so it’s important for me to choose the right tan for my skin tone in order to keep it looking natural. Here are my four favourite tanning products – I hope you enjoy!

Most of you probably already know how important it is to exfoliate your skin before tanning in order to create an even toned look. But what I find even more helpful is using a product such as St Tropez Tan Enhancing Polish, which helps even out your skin tone, along with ensuring your tan lasts as long as possible. I would definitely recommend you use this product before tanning and I guarantee you will see a difference!

If you’re new to tanning I recommend  you try a product such as Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion. I use this product in the shade Light as I feel that it comes out dark enough for my skin colour in this shade. The product is very easy to apply as you can use your hands and apply it just as you would a normal moisturiser. One thing I adore about this product is the apricot scent which is left on your skin. If you don’t usually tan and fancy trying it out I would definitely recommend using this gradual tan.

This product is my all time favourite. The St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse is my go to tan when I want a sun kissed look. This tan pumps out into a foam which is best applied with a tanning mit. One thing I love about this product is that you are able to see where you are applying it, which allows you to create a perfectly even tan. This product is a bit pricey compared to other tans but it definitely lasts a lot longer than any other tanning product I have tried. If you fancy treating yourself to a luxury tan, I would definitely recommend you pick this one up.

Last but not least is the Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion. This product is similar to the Garnier Gradual Tan, but the texture is slightly less shimmery. I have always loved this product as it is perfect for a quick fix if you don’t have time to tan properly. I usually apply this product before I go to  bed, which allows me to wake up with a natural looking tan. This product is generally the cheapest out of the four mentioned, so if you’re looking for a quick and easy fix, this would be the right one for you.

Which tanning products do you use and what would you recommend I try next?

St.Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion Review

Before purchasing this product I found it almost impossible to find a review on it, so I decided that I would write one myself.

St.Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower does pretty much what it says on the bottle. The main reason for me choosing this product was the fact that I seem to be really busy with work lately (or just too lazy to stand around and wait for a fake tan to dry) and the idea of tanning whilst showering seemed like heaven.

After you’ve finished cleaning yourself in the shower, you have to switch the shower off and apply the lotion to wet skin. I was quite worried that the tan would run off wet skin and leave streaky marks, but I was pleasantly surprised! After waiting three minutes you can then wash off the lotion in the shower and wait for it to do it’s magic.

I didn’t notice a difference after my first attempt but the second time I used the lotion there was a definite glow to my skin. Within a week I managed to use the products four times, with the last attempt not being used so generously as the rest. The only fault I would give this product is that after four uses the bottle was empty and I had to buy another one. With it costing £14.50 a bottle you would hope for it to last a lot more than this, especially as you have to reapply it several times until you get the colour you are happy with.

But apart from that, the coverage of the lotion left my skin evenly tanned and I didn’t look orange at all. I was also very happy to find that it didn’t leave a gross smell on my skin like you would find with other tans.

So if you feel like you always feel too busy or lazy to stand around and wait for a regular tan a try then I definitely recommend this product.
