A night with Jewel Street – The Florist Bristol

thumbnail_IMG_6616

This week I was lucky enough to be invited to a fabulous event in connection with Jewel Street. The event was in order to celebrate the brand and introduce their SS18 Look Book.

Jewel Street is a brand that supports independent jewellery designers by giving them an online platform to promote their hand crafted and quality pieces. Jewellery from Jewel Street has been spotted on several celebs, with the likes of Cardi B, Khloe Kardashian and Rihanna to name a few.

The event was hosted by the fabulous Karina Marriott who made us all feel incredibly welcome. She did a fantastic job at introducing us to the brand and the different designers they work with.

It was great to hear about a brand who create unique pieces of jewellery that can be personalised and created to your choice.

I really love seeing somebody be passionate about a brand, as it allows you to put your trust and faith in them. Karina did a brilliant job with this and I couldn’t have imagined a better host for the evening.

The venue for the event was The Florist Bristol. This worked well as the beautiful jewellery matched perfectly with the decor. Throughout the evening we were also given the chance to try out the delicious cocktails supplied by The Florist.

I love being able to watch their cocktails be created. The taste and presentation of the drinks at The Florist is always very fitting with the floral theme.

I had such a lovely evening finding out about the brand whilst mingling with like minded bloggers and jewellery lovers.

If you’re looking to find yourself that special piece, then I would definitely recommend you check out their site which can be found here.

Lace in Fashion -Fashion Museum Bath

befunky-collage

Last week I was lucky enough to attend a sneak preview of the Lace in Fashion exhibition at The Fashion Museum in Bath. The exhibition runs from February 4th 2017 until the January 1st 2018.

“Drawing on the riches of the Fashion Museum’s collection, as well as generous loans from contemporary fashion designers, the exhibition showcases 50 exquisite pieces, showing how lace has been used in fashion from the 1500s to the present day.”

On arrival we were welcomed with refreshments and had a chance to admire the collection whilst waiting for everyone to arrive. We were then given an amazing tour of the collections, enabling us to revisit the history behind each piece.

It was interesting to see how lace had began as a hand made art, taking hours to complete and only to be worn by the wealthiest of people. Many of the pieces we visited included collars and cuffs, carefully designed and perfected by delicate hand made lace.

It was amazing to see how far lace had come in terms of both technology and fashion. Lace can now be easily found on both the high street and catwalk, which makes it interesting to see how it has transformed throughout the years.

There are many collections to see, featuring some interesting and inspiring work.  Glamorous pieces come into play throughout the exhibition and there are some beautiful dresses which definitely caught my eye.

If you’re looking to spend the day admiring wonderful fashion, then I would definitely recommend you head to the Fashion Museum in Bath. Not only will you find this extraordinary collection, but you can venture through galleries filled with historical and contemporary fashion.

There are also several courses and classes available at the Fashion Museum if you wish to learn more about lace.

Bristol Fashion Week 2016

thumbnail_img_2138

This week I was lucky enough to be invited to blog for Bristol Fashion Week. The event was held at The Mall in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol and ran from the 28th September – 2nd October. On arrival each guest was welcomed with a glass of bubbly and a small selection of snacks before being shown to their designated seat.

thumbnail_img_2145

The opening show was incredible and with the theme being Military, the range did not disappoint.  The scene featured some fresh fashions from Marks & Spencer, along with bags from Radley London.

thumbnail_img_2151

The scene was followed by some amazing new trends, along with Uniform Makeover, a personal favourite of mine. The collection included some great pieces for work, along with some stable winter coats.

The Uniform Makeover collection featured fashion from Marks & Spencer, along with makeup by Bobbi Brown – sporting dark lips and luminous highlighters, along with great hair by G&T in Clifton Village.

There were ten scenes altogether and I absolutely loved them all. One of my favourites  being Gothic– which featured fashion from Coast and menswear from Moss Boss. Black clothing is perfect for any occasion and the amazing atmosphere linked with this produced an unforgettable show.

Another scene I loved would definitely have to be Fairytale. The scene featured some enchanting pieces from Karen Millen, matched with beautiful accessories from Accessorize.

The event ended with a spectacular finale and all guests left with a goody bag full of beauty products, sweets and treats. It was definitely an experience not to be missed.

After leaving the fashion show, I then headed over to Marks & Spencer to attend the blogging event they had prepared for us. The store was decorated with beautiful fairy lights and an enchanting forest theme.

The lovely ladies at Marks & Spencer supplied us with prosecco and delicious snacks throughout the night. We were lucky enough to preview the latest Autumn fashion and were treated to a fabulous nail bar.

It was great being able to socialise with other bloggers and find out more about what Marks & Spencer has to offer this season.

I had an amazing night at both events and I am so grateful for all the information and goodies which were offered to me. I will definitely be heading over to The Mall in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol to pick up some of the latest fashion pieces featured in Bristol Fashion Week this year.

Beauty Beach Essentials

As I am going on holiday in a few days I thought it would be good to write a post letting you all know what I plan to take with me in my beach bag.

I love my Lulu Traveler Pouch from LYDC and I will definitely be taking it with me when I go to the beach!

My bag contains a mixture of beauty and skincare products, along with a good book which is essential for the beach. I am loving Adore Me’s #BeachDayMusts swim and sexy lingerie range and I hope you enjoy my post as much as I love the others I have read! Hopefully I will inspire you to start thinking about what you will pack in your beach bag this year.

thumbnail_IMG_0628

The first product I put in my bag is definitely the most essential item, that being my sunscreen. This year I was lucky enough to try out a new Ladival Sun Protection and it’s fair to say I love it! The bottle I use is SPF 15 and it has an advanced infrared-a protection system which makes it much more effective than other sunscreens. I also love this product due to the fact that it doesn’t leave a gross scent behind, instead you are left with lovely moisturised and non-sticky skin.

When I am on the beach I don’t tend to wear foundation as I like my face to tan and also to give my skin a chance to breathe, but two products I do use are a highlighter and a bronzer. Both products I use are a powder form and I feel that they give my skin a glowing finish without having to be caked in makeup. The highlighter I tend to use on a hot day is the Make-up Revolution VIVID Baked Highlighter. This product is so cheap so at only £3 I am not afraid to take it to the beach with me.

I also take a mini Hoola Bronzer by Benefit with me. I also have the full sized version of this product but I don’t like carrying it with me to the beach in case it cracks. Similar to the highlighter, this bronzer glides across my skin so smoothly and is also very pigmented. I love this bronzer in any weather but it definitely adds to the perfect summer glow.

Along with these makeup products, I also like to take the nail varnish which I am currently using in my bag with me to cover up any unwanted chips. My new beach favourite is the Rimmel 60 Seconds polish in the colour 430 Coralicious. This varnish dries super quick and the colour is amazing. Along with this polish, I also like to bring my Nina Ricci perfume with me in order to top up on the fruity summer scent throughout the day.

One product which I particularly find handy if you plan on going for lunch straight from the beach is the Bastiste Tropical Dry Shampoo. It only takes a few sprays of this dry shampoo to leave your hair feeling fresh and smelling beautiful.

After making sure I have all my beauty products in my beach bag, I always make sure that I have a good book ready to read and relax with on the beach. At the moment I am reading The Ship by Antonia Honeywell. The book is set in a dystopian world where the people of London are fighting to stay alive. If you’re looking for an adventurous book to take with you this summer I definitely recommend this one!

Last but not least I will be making sure that I have my Cat Eye sunglasses with me from Accessorize. If you’re looking for a new pair of stylish sunglasses then you should take a look at their amazing new range. They are the perfect accessory for a day at the beach!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and I would love to hear what you have in your beach bag!

Last minute festival preparation.

Festival season is among us and it is clear that some of us are more prepared than others. Not everyone is constantly living the festival season lifestyle, so it is important that first time festival goers prepare themselves in order to attend a festival in style. By the end of this post you are sure to find out how prepared you really are when it comes to the festival season and also see whether or not you need to do some last minute shopping!

What’s the first thing you pack for a festival?
The main factor to determine whether or not you are prepared for festival season is to think about what would be the first thing you pack when getting ready to attend a festival. Most people will run to the dry shampoo and factor 30 and although they are useful products to have with you, you’re not really doing it right unless you are well prepared with a bum bag full of glitter and face paint.

What’s your main colour scheme for the festival?
Don’t get me wrong I love wearing anything black, but for a festival it’s important you step it up a gear and experiment with the brightest and funkiest patterns you can find. The greatest thing about a festival is being able to wear a multi coloured lycra outfit and not be judged for it. If you need any ideas then below are some outfits and pieces which you will find in Topshop and Burnt Soul.

Which accessories are essential?
As with any event, it is important that you match your outfit with the perfect accessories. If you’re a regular festival goer then you will already know that any tribal or aztec jewellery you own will look perfect with your outfit. If you’re new to the scene and are looking for some guidance or a piece which you are able to match with multiple outfits, I advise you invest in a cute floral headband or a bright statement necklace. If these make it through the festival then there’s no harm in bringing them along next year!

Is there such thing as sensible footwear?
No matter what the weather forecast states, it is inevitable that throughout the festival you will come across generous amounts of mud. With this in mind wearing sandals to a festival is a very bad idea. Not only will your feet be covered in whatever mess is around you, but is it more than likely that your feet will get stood on and crushed in the crowds. You’re better off sticking to trainers or wellies when attending a festival as they are both comfy and practical.

Worried about not having a make-up kit and blow dry on hand?
If you’re the type of girl who loves make-up and couldn’t imagine a weekend not being able to spend hours making sure your hair and make-up is perfect, then attending a festival will definitely be a challenge for you. A few tips to consider before attending the festival is learning how to plait your hair if you don’t already know how to – this will save your life when you find your hair turning greasy and frizzy. Another tip is to have your eyelashes and brows tinted before the festival so you don’t have to spend time applying mascara and brow tint to them. If you are really struggling with the idea of no makeup then you could always invest in a good BB Cream and a product such as Nars The Multiple, a 3-in-1 product which can be used on your eyes, cheeks and lips.

The most important thing to remember when preparing for a festival is to enjoy yourself. Once you get there you will be having so much fun you won’t be focusing on how you look and you will soon realise that everybody else is in the same boat as you.
Don’t let not having a make-up bag and shower on hand discourage you from attending!

Cheap Ass Sunglasses – Hollywood Review

Yesterday I was delighted to come home and find that my delivery from Cheap Ass Sunglasses had arrived! I had ordered a pair of Hollywood sunglasses, which I fell in love with straight away. I was so pleased with my purchase that I couldn’t wait to try them out!

As it was a lovely day, a friend and I decided to spend the afternoon at Cardiff Bay in the sun. These sunglasses arrived at the perfect time as the weather in Cardiff is starting to heat up, which means that I will be able to make the most out of these stylish sunglasses.

Not only are they the perfect addition to a fabulous outfit, but these sunglasses are 100% UV Protected and were under £10! The delivery service of these glasses were excellent and I will definitely be purchasing another pair from their website.

Marks and Spencer Blogging Party

I was recently invited to join several other bloggers at the M&S Blogging Party in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol. The event followed the Bristol Fashion Week Show which you can find my review on here.

As we arrived at the event we were greeted by some lovely ladies who worked for M&S, they made us all feel very welcome and explained to us a little bit about their Spring/Summer range. We were then allowed to have a sneak peak at their upcoming Spring range which featured some lovely floral prints which I will definitely be keeping an eye out for!

As we were walking around we also had a chance to try some of their products which would be perfect for a summers BBQ or picnic. My favourite was the Rocky Road Cupcakes, along with the Mojito Juice Drink which is perfect with or without the rum. These refreshments were the perfect snack to enjoy whilst looking at all of the wonderful products M&S had to offer.

Once we had finished looking around, we were offered a complimentary hand massage and manicure at the nail bar which was the perfect way to finish off the event. After my nails were dry and I was fully pampered it was time to leave, but the lovely women at M&S made sure we didn’t go home empty handed. We were all treated with a luxury M&S goody bag which featured many skincare and makeup products.

I had an amazing time at the event and I am so grateful to M&S for having us.
I can’t wait to see what my next blogging event brings!

Bristol Fashion Week Event

Last night I was lucky enough to receive a bloggers pass which allowed me to attend the Bristol Fashion Week Event at The Mall in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol. The event was hosted by Denise Van Outen and Mark Heyes, who certainly made the event one to remember!
I had an amazing night and I definitely recommend you bag yourself a ticket and enjoy one of the last few shows!

On arrival we were greeted with raffle tickets, along with treats for Krispy Kreme and traditional lemonade and fondant fancies from M&S. The waiting area was decorated with a wonderful Spring garden theme and these tasty treats made brilliant snacks throughout the show!

We were lucky enough to be able to sit near the front which allowed me to have a perfect view of the catwalk, along with the glamorous outfits and models displayed on it. The catwalk featured many Spring/Summer themes including florals, colour bursts, short and sassy, street styles and many more. All of the outfits were amazing, but the brands which stood out to me the most were Coast, Warehouse, New Look, River Island, Karen Millen and Marks & Spencer.

Whilst watching the finale, we were each gifted with an amazing goody bag which featured many products including a No 7 Mascara, a box of Perfectil Skin, Hair and Nails Vitamins, along with luscious hand creams and skincare products. This was a lovely surprise and I cannot wait to review these beautiful products.

My Tanning Favourites!

Spring is here, which means that Summer is right around the corner. The first thing I think of when I picture summer is being tanned – but if you don’t have a holiday planned then you might need a little help.

I personally hate the orange skin look, so it’s important for me to choose the right tan for my skin tone in order to keep it looking natural. Here are my four favourite tanning products – I hope you enjoy!

IMG_1887

Most of you probably already know how important it is to exfoliate your skin before tanning in order to create an even toned look. But what I find even more helpful is using a product such as St Tropez Tan Enhancing Polish, which helps even out your skin tone, along with ensuring your tan lasts as long as possible. I would definitely recommend you use this product before tanning and I guarantee you will see a difference!

IMG_1886

If you’re new to tanning I recommend  you try a product such as Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion. I use this product in the shade Light as I feel that it comes out dark enough for my skin colour in this shade. The product is very easy to apply as you can use your hands and apply it just as you would a normal moisturiser. One thing I adore about this product is the apricot scent which is left on your skin. If you don’t usually tan and fancy trying it out I would definitely recommend using this gradual tan.

IMG_1885

This product is my all time favourite. The St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse is my go to tan when I want a sun kissed look. This tan pumps out into a foam which is best applied with a tanning mit. One thing I love about this product is that you are able to see where you are applying it, which allows you to create a perfectly even tan. This product is a bit pricey compared to other tans but it definitely lasts a lot longer than any other tanning product I have tried. If you fancy treating yourself to a luxury tan, I would definitely recommend you pick this one up.

5skin.jpg1.jpg1

Last but not least is the Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion. This product is similar to the Garnier Gradual Tan, but the texture is slightly less shimmery. I have always loved this product as it is perfect for a quick fix if you don’t have time to tan properly. I usually apply this product before I go to  bed, which allows me to wake up with a natural looking tan. This product is generally the cheapest out of the four mentioned, so if you’re looking for a quick and easy fix, this would be the right one for you.

Which tanning products do you use and what would you recommend I try next?

Lan LLofft Fashion Blogging Event Cardiff

This weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to a fashion blogger event at Lan LLofft in CardiffLan Llofft is a Welsh Boutique which has shops in Cardiff, Machynlleth and Lampeter. The lovely boutique  features brands such as French Connection, Sugarhill, Darling, Great Plains and many more!

When I arrived at the event I was greeted by three lovely ladies who work in Lan Llofft in Cardiff and they immediately made me feel welcome. The shop itself was filled with lovely spring colours and many outfits stood out for me due to their cute floral patterns.

Once everybody had arrived, we were told that if we wanted to we could put together an outfit to try on and have our photograph taken in order to gain a chance at winning the outfit later on in the event. Of course I jumped at the chance and decided to go for a beautiful kimono paired with some amazing lilac heels and a lovely white clutch.
Here is the photograph taken of me in my chosen outfit:

10514756_1755328468016803_3615152163520014310_n

After we had a chance at playing dress up we had a chance to get to know the women hosting the event and learn a little bit about the company. I was so pleased to find that everyone attending the event was so friendly and the day truly was wonderful!

After stuffing our faces with the refreshments they had kindly offered us, Bethan (a lovely woman who organised the event) presented us with goody bags to take home. I was so pleased to find that my bag included a stunning gold necklace, along with a blue and purple floral scarf which I will definitely be wearing this spring. I was also given a lovely tote bag and a discount code which will be perfect for my next shop at this wonderful boutique.

I am so happy to have found this boutique as both the staff and the clothes they stock are amazing!

If you’re shopping in Cardiff or in any of the other towns mentioned then I would definitely recommend you check this shop out!
