Benefit – Bold is Beautiful Brow Project

When it comes to getting my eyebrows done, I always visit my nearest Benefit Brow Bar to get a wax and tint. I love how quick and easy they make it for me to achieve the perfect look.

This month I was pleasantly surprised to find that Benefit were giving 100% of their profits from their Brow Treatments to the charities Look Good Feel Better and Refuge.

It was great to see such a well known brand supporting a good cause. Along with giving the full price of the treatment to these charities, they also offered all customers a free gimme brow mini as an incentive to purchase the treatments.

After having my brows done, my brow technician also explained to me that they were also taking additional donations for the charity. With every donation they were giving away Benefit Popcorn and a sample of their new foundation, The POREfessional – Pore Minimising Foundation.

I took up the opportunity to help out the charities and in turn was gifted with some cute items. Not only did I enjoy munching on the popcorn, but the sample of the foundation worked wonders on my skin. I feel that it will definitely be a product to watch.

As always I left feeling very pleased with my brows, along with the customer service and acknowledgment I received. It’s always great to see brands helping out charities and I would definitely recommend you check out their Brow Bar.

Beauty Beach Essentials

As I am going on holiday in a few days I thought it would be good to write a post letting you all know what I plan to take with me in my beach bag.

I love my Lulu Traveler Pouch from LYDC and I will definitely be taking it with me when I go to the beach!

My bag contains a mixture of beauty and skincare products, along with a good book which is essential for the beach. I am loving Adore Me’s #BeachDayMusts swim and sexy lingerie range and I hope you enjoy my post as much as I love the others I have read! Hopefully I will inspire you to start thinking about what you will pack in your beach bag this year.

The first product I put in my bag is definitely the most essential item, that being my sunscreen. This year I was lucky enough to try out a new Ladival Sun Protection and it’s fair to say I love it! The bottle I use is SPF 15 and it has an advanced infrared-a protection system which makes it much more effective than other sunscreens. I also love this product due to the fact that it doesn’t leave a gross scent behind, instead you are left with lovely moisturised and non-sticky skin.

When I am on the beach I don’t tend to wear foundation as I like my face to tan and also to give my skin a chance to breathe, but two products I do use are a highlighter and a bronzer. Both products I use are a powder form and I feel that they give my skin a glowing finish without having to be caked in makeup. The highlighter I tend to use on a hot day is the Make-up Revolution VIVID Baked Highlighter. This product is so cheap so at only £3 I am not afraid to take it to the beach with me.

I also take a mini Hoola Bronzer by Benefit with me. I also have the full sized version of this product but I don’t like carrying it with me to the beach in case it cracks. Similar to the highlighter, this bronzer glides across my skin so smoothly and is also very pigmented. I love this bronzer in any weather but it definitely adds to the perfect summer glow.

Along with these makeup products, I also like to take the nail varnish which I am currently using in my bag with me to cover up any unwanted chips. My new beach favourite is the Rimmel 60 Seconds polish in the colour 430 Coralicious. This varnish dries super quick and the colour is amazing. Along with this polish, I also like to bring my Nina Ricci perfume with me in order to top up on the fruity summer scent throughout the day.

One product which I particularly find handy if you plan on going for lunch straight from the beach is the Bastiste Tropical Dry Shampoo. It only takes a few sprays of this dry shampoo to leave your hair feeling fresh and smelling beautiful.

After making sure I have all my beauty products in my beach bag, I always make sure that I have a good book ready to read and relax with on the beach. At the moment I am reading The Ship by Antonia Honeywell. The book is set in a dystopian world where the people of London are fighting to stay alive. If you’re looking for an adventurous book to take with you this summer I definitely recommend this one!

Last but not least I will be making sure that I have my Cat Eye sunglasses with me from Accessorize. If you’re looking for a new pair of stylish sunglasses then you should take a look at their amazing new range. They are the perfect accessory for a day at the beach!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and I would love to hear what you have in your beach bag!

Review of My Favourite Mascaras

I decided that I would write a post reviewing my favourite mascara, but I soon realised I use more than one mascara when applying my makeup and I am always finding a new favourite.

So instead here are my top four mascaras…

  1. Yves Saint Laurent Babydoll Mascara – Effet Faux Cils £25.00

I started using this mascara last year and I still love it as much as I did then. The brush is small and thin which is what I usually go for when choosing a mascara as it doesn’t seem to leave my eyelashes looking clumpy and spider-like. Another reason why I love this mascara so much is that not only is it easy to apply, but it lasts all day, which I think is perfect as nobody wants to have black smudges around their eyes come 5pm.

  2. Benefit They’re Real Mascara £19.50

This is the mascara I tend to go when I am going out in the evening and want a more glamourous look. I feel that this mascara does exactly what it says in the name and allows you to have a false lash effect without having to bother with actually applying any. Again the brush is still quite small which makes apply it very easy.

  3. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara £19.00

This mascara is another which I usually use for an evening out. I tend to apply this mascara over the top of another one as it allows me to create a thick lash effect. The brush on this is slightly different from the previous two mascaras but I feel like it allows you to create more of a curl when applying it.

  4. SEVENTEEN Falsifeye HD Mascara £6.99

This mascara is a lot cheaper than the previous mascaras and I still think that it is to the same standard as them. I love this mascara for an everyday use as it extends my lashes a great deal and leaves them looking beautiful. If you’re looking for a less pricey mascara which still works wonders than I definitely recommend you try this one out.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and have found some new products to add to your makeup bag. Feel free to comment and let me know which is your favourite mascara and why?

My top ten party essentials!

As the Christmas period is coming to an end, I thought that it would be helpful for me to post my top ten party essentials to help get you ready for the new year. After careful consideration, I have chosen my favourite ten products, all of which I will be using whilst I get ready for my NYE night out! I hope you enjoy these products as much as I do!

  1. The Scrub of Your Life – Soap & Glory  £7.00
This is all my time favourite body scrub! It’s perfect for prepping your skin before tanning or just to get your skin feeling silky smooth.
  2. KIKO Cleansing Milk & Tone £5.90
I have only recently started using this product but it’s the best cleanser I have tried in a long time! The price is very reasonable and it works wonders on my face.
  3. Dove Summer Glow Gradual Tan £5.25
This product has recently been re-packaged, but it still works as wonderful as ever. I’m not a huge fan of fake tan but this gradual tan gives a very natural glow to my skin and is really easy to use.
  4. Nivea Q10 Plus Firming Body Lotion £3.39
Even after using a gradual tan body lotion, I love to make sure my skin is well hydrated and this product definitely does the job!
  5. YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer  £29.00
I have mentioned this product a little too often on my blog but it’s only because I adore it! It honestly is the best primer a girl could wish for.
  6. Benefit High Beam  £19.50
After trying out many highlighters, I have chosen to stick with High Beam as my ultimate go to highlighter. Even the smallest amount of this product wakes my skin up and leaves me glowing all day.
  7. Clinique High Impact Colour Lip Colour -Sassy Spice £18.00
I always tend to go for a red lip colour when I go on a night out and this is definitely one of my favourites! It’s not too bright and lasts all night – I will definitely be using this for NYE this year.
  8. John Freda Miraculous Recovery Serum   £6.29
Before I leave the house I always make sure that I have applied plenty of this serum to my hair to make sure that I don’t leave the house looking like a frizz ball. I don’t like using hairspray much but this product keeps my hair neat and tidy ready for the night!
  9. Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray De-Slick  £21.00
After applying my makeup I like to use this setting spray in order to keep my makeup in place and ensure that my skin stays under control. It is perfect at ensuring that my face doesn’t get oily throughout the evening and that I don’t have to worry about reapplying my makeup.
  10. Jimmy Choo Exotic Perfume  £34.99
Last but not least is my favourite perfume. This is a limited edition Jimmy Choo scent which was released in the summer but I absolutely love it. If you happen to come across it I would definitely recommend you buying it!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my favourite beauty products and I would love to hear what products you use before a night out!
Have a happy new year and a wonderful night xoxo

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer Review.

Like most people I have religiously used the same Primer for a while now and felt that I would never need to change it. But after swearing by Benefit’s Porefessional Primer, I decided that it wouldn’t hurt for me to try a different primer just to see if I was missing out.

I had read a lot of reviews on Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer and didn’t expect it to be as good as people had described it. But I promise you that this primer really is a god send! It actually feels like liquid gold on my skin.

With just a tiny squirt of this primer, my pores were completely blurred and my skin felt silky smooth. One of my favourite elements of the primer is that it features little bits of gold glitter within it which I adore!

The main test of a successful primer is how well it helps to keep your makeup in place and this definitely does the trick. I use this primer with the Estée Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation and if I apply it first thing in the morning, my makeup doesn’t move an inch by the time I get home, it’s amazing!

This primer doesn’t cost a lot more than the primer I previously used and at £29.50 a bottle I would definitely recommend it. The primer comes in a beautiful glass bottle and you definitely receive a generous amount. I can see this primer lasting a very long time. It’s my new favourite!

Review on Benefit Foundation

After spending years trying to find the right foundation, I have finally found one which does my face justice.

For a while now I have been thinking about trying out a new foundation but I was either too stingy or just too unsure on what product to try out. I must admit that I have always loved Boujois makeup and for a long time I used their foundation, it’s good for coverage and a reasonable price but I felt that I might as well try something better if it meant that it would last longer and do a much better job.

So after receiving my student loan, I found myself in Boots ready to do a routine makeup haul. But this time I decided to talk to one of the women at the Benefit counter. I am normally very hesitant with things like this because I always feel that I am going to get judged for having bad skin or not looking like a model, but she made me feel really comfortable and applied the right shade for me in order to help me choose the perfect foundation. I feel like I am writing to promote Benefit workers but I honestly couldn’t say a bad word about this woman, the conversation I had with her was genuine and it didn’t feel like she was just trying to sell me a product.

None the less I did buy the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow liquid AND powder foundation, just because it made my skin look so soft and bright (hence it being called brightening makeup). I’ve used it every day so far and it doesn’t even look like it has been touched so I am hoping that it will last me a while because I really am pleased with this purchase. I could have easily went crazy and tried out all of the other products on offer with how happy I was, but knowing how bad I am at saying no I decided to take my products and leave.

If anyone is conscious with the way their skin looks, I think that this is definitely worth a try. Even after using both the liquid and powder, it’s pleasantly surprising how light it feels on your skin. It also lasts all day without wearing off and is such a good product to use in preparation for a night out!

As you can tell I am really happy that I decided to buy these products and I think that you should all go and treat yourself too, you won’t be disappointed!
